She dealt with a lot of total beeeches growing up, when she was completely focused on writing and performance. Not ever really one of the "cool kids" based on everything she has ever shared about those days. Then when her songs started clicking she was around musicians and the sort of men who specialized in making money off of teenagers and desperate 20-somethings trying to break through in the music biz. A whole lot of creeps, in other words.
Then when she became successful she gravitated towards actors and singing stars, more than one or two. Ego maniacs and just plain egos. More than a few who deserved the skewering they got in her songs. I have always loved the quote she whips out, something about how if they didn't want her to tell the truth in her songs they shouldn't treat her mean. Let's hear a big loud DUH for that!
Who knows what happened with the last man, who by all reports was loving and kind. If we're lucky, we'll never hear a word about him and if she's lucky she's got another million-seller track bubbling up for her next major release. Since it takes her six months to finish a track like that, we probably wouldn't hear it until after Christmas.
But Travis, he actually is smarter than your average pro athlete. Which in my personal experience is extremely uncommon. There are all the ones who jet around the parties on the outskirts of Hollywood, the ones who always underpay photographers for portfolio images, the ones who never got far on the field or in the entertainment biz.
Travis saved up enough cash to buy a nice mansion in a gated community when he needed one and put a nice black limo in the garage too. All available with a snap of his fingers when it was time. Whatever's happening between those two now is happening at her pace. And why wouldn't she want to be around a smart, kind, athlete? A guy who towers over her even when she puts on platforms that add four or five inches in height.
A strong man that most women drool over, just because of his looks. Oh yeah.
